BUDGET NARRATIVE:

The following factors were considered in establishing the District’s budget for the 2023-2024 school year:

Tax Rates:           M&O $0.7575

                                               I&S $0.1868

                                               TOTAL $0.9443

**Grape Creek ISD adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's rate.  What the legislature has failed to inform the public is that as your local tax collections increase, the state reduces the amount of funds sent to the district – shifting the responsibility of funding education from the state to the local taxpayers. Grape Creek ISD does not benefit from increased local tax collections.

                Additions:

Teachers, Counselors, and Nurses - step increase

5% increase of Mid-point for all other employees

Increase of maintenance supplies and contract services as needed.

Increase of transportation supplies and contract services as needed.

Increase in supplies cost as needed

      Continue with the following:

Current staffing patterns at all Campuses

Health Insurance for all full time staff

Dental Insurance for all full time staff

      Disability Insurance for all staff

Life insurance policy for all full time staff

The District's M&O for 2022-2023 tax rate is  = $0.7575 and I&S  tax rate is = $0.1868 per $100 of property valuation which is less than it was for last year.
