Welcome back to the 2018/2019 school year. We hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready to get to the task at hand for this year. There will be a couple of changes we are making this year to provide a safer and more effective transportation service to our riders.
Assigned seats - Seats will be assigned for the 2018-19 school year. We need to assign seats for two specific reasons: 1) SAFETY - In the past, we have allowed riders to sit where they wanted and this resulted in a natural progression of older riders to the rear with younger students toward the front. IF there is an emergency and the bus driver is incapacitated, we need to have older riders at the front of the bus. 2) Population - This year, we are short qualified bus drivers. In effect, we will be "doubling up" the number of riders on a bus, from last year. We'll need to ensure there is adequate seating and with assigned seats we can put older (larger) riders with smaller (younger) riders. As with SAFETY, this will help to manage the younger riders if there is an emergency.
Registration/Changes - To register your rider or make changes to your information throughout the year, please contact the campus your rider attends. DO NOT give a note to the driver as they are not responsible for making changes to the routes. The information must go through the administration at the campus your rider attends.
We hope you have an enjoyable and successful year at Grape Creek ISD. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at (325) 655-1735 ext. 6000. We will try to provide the most accurate answer to any of your questions.

The Transportation Department would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work hard in establishing routines, and make adjustments for our students utilizing our transportation services this school year. In order to ensure that all students are safe and well taken care of, we often find we run later than expected the first week of school. We work hard to remedy this as quickly as possible, but our main concern is student safety above all else.
Again, thank you for your patience and support.
