Transportation

Welcome back!
Welcome back to the 2019/2020 school year. We hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready to get to the task at hand for this year. We are making some changes this year to provide a safer and more effective transportation service to our district.

Population – Once again, we are faced with a shortage of available, qualified school bus drivers. With that, we will be operating under much the same methods as the 2018-2019 school year. Our primary goal is to SAFELY transport our students to and from school in the most comfortable way. To do this, we need the assistance of the riders, and from time to time, parents. While we won’t have assigned seats due to the population on our buses, we may request older riders ride in the front of the bus to assist with managing younger riders. Understand, this is simply a way for us to help the younger riders learn the proper manners and actions they will need to ride the school bus safely. IF there is an emergency and the bus driver is incapacitated, older riders will be of great benefit to assist with any possible evacuation procedures.

Registration/Changes - To register your rider or make changes to your information throughout the year, please contact the campus your rider attends.  Drivers are not responsible for making changes to routes, and any information must go through the administration at the campus your rider attends. Please, DO NOT give a note to the driver as they have enough to manage without the administrative responsibility to ensure your message gets to the proper people.

We hope you have an enjoyable and successful year at Grape Creek ISD. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at (325) 655-1735 ext. 6000. We will try to provide the most accurate answer to any of your questions.

The Transportation Department would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work hard in establishing routines, and make adjustments for our students utilizing our transportation services this school year. In order to ensure that all students are safe and well taken care of, we often find we run later than expected the first week of school. We work hard to remedy this as quickly as possible, but our main concern is student safety above all else.
Again, thank you for your patience and support.
